My friend Bill whom I met in the blogosphere has a beautiful blog called Dying Man’s Daily Journal. It is perhaps one of the most heartfelt, honest and “real” blogs out there. It is a blog that I return to again and again — both because I care about Bill and want to see how he is doing and because I am nurtured by his writing and the many comments he receives.
As the title of his blog indicates, Bill is dying. He started his blog as a way to work through his own feelings about dying and reflect on his life. What I love about this blog is that Bill tells it like it is. No sugar-coating or over-spiritualizing the reality of death. Yet at the same time Bill writes from such a deep well of faith and love. While the blog is about dying, it is really about life. Life lived to the fullest. There is much wisdom in this man, and we are blessed by him.
Do visit Bill at Dying Man’s Daily Journal. Also check out Lindor Reynolds’ article “Diary of a dying man: Winnipegger’s blog muses on life and death, draws thousands of visitors” in the Winnipeg Free Press.

Dear Sister Julie,
I stumbled onto Dying Man’s Daily Journal a few days ago. I am dying too. Bill e-mailed and now I have e-mailed back and then, just now, I saw your site and began to wonder…life is such a mystery. I was a life long atheist until a conversion to Catholicism in 2006, before I became sick. God, it seems, keeps leading me and I, in faith, keep following.
In Christ,
Sarah Jordan
Dear Sarah, I’m glad you found Bill. He’s a good guy … and wise. My prayers are with you, Sarah. Anything I can do to help, just let me know.
