Hey, Julie, you beat me to it! It’s been a busy week on my end. I hope to get to it over the weekend. Peace!

Julie:

What fun this catalogue is. I don’t really have responses for all of your items, but here goes:

NT: I like “I’m the Way, the Truth and the Life.” and “There is no division between Greek and Jew…, we are all one in Christ.” And the passage in Corinthians where Paul talks about the primacy of love is great. Oh, I also love the first few lines of John. Sorry if my citations are nonexistent. I figure this is an informal board so I didn’t go for exact wording/chapter/verse.

OT: Some of the psalms are very inspiring to me. Even though it is a bit unsettling, I relate well to Job. I find Ecclesiastes thought provoking.

Psalm: My favorite complete psalm is 23. But there are other passages from other psalms I like, especially “Oh Lord, teach me your paths, and I will come to your truth.” from Psalm 85.

Quote: “My soul will not rest until it rests in thee.” St. Augustine

Favorite saint: St. Teresa of Avila. BTW, did any of you see the 10-part series on her - produced by the Spanish government and aired by EWTN? Evidentally, her “Interior Castle” is the number two most popular/cherished book in all of Spanish literature. Only Don Quixote passes it. (Heard this from a grad student in Spanish literature at a state university)

Tradition: I’m not sure exactly how I would define that. So I’ll answer the best I can. One of the most important parts my faith is the Eucharist. Christmas and Easter vigil masses are much more special to me than their daytime counterparts. I also like making palm crosses on Palm Sunday. I especially appreciate the Catholic tradition of the study of philosophy and cosmology. This does not seem to be very valued today by secular society. It’s too bad because it is so essential for a deep understanding of human/transcendent experience.

Universities: I received my B.A. in history/art history from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. I got my M.A. in management and marketing from the Vienna, Austria campus of Webster University, a St. Louis-based school I just discovered was founded by the Sisters of Loretto.

Virtue: I wish I had more PATIENCE. I have so little and pray for it a lot.

Catholic musicians: I too love Hildegard of Bingen chant. My favorite CD is “Vision”. I also like some folk music sung at mass (ok, I’m dating myself.). I adore the music from Godspell!

Zeal: Yes, I’ve got zeal for the faith. I hope and pray to be the best witness possible. Sometimes I think my evangelization efforts/skills are subpar. But God knows my intentions are noble and loves me anyway!

Have fun!

Lisa … you started this girl and you’ve not finished it?! I’m going immediately to your blog to see if you did! :)
Donna … This was alot of fun to write, wasn’t it? I too love the Augustine quote … I haven’t seen the Teresa of Avila series. I would love to! Any idea where it is accessible?

Sister Julie:

I would think you could contact EWTN about it. It seems they broadcast it at least once a year or so. Perhaps you could see when they will next air it or could even have the motherhouse purchase for the sisters. Maybe they’d give you a discount ’cause you’re a nun! :-) It’s really great though. I’d highly recommend it!
