“My Secret Is Mine” Interview

By Sister Julie | February 11, 2007

Secretum Meum MihiA while back I had a delightful conversation with Kristen West McGuire, founder and editor-in-chief of Secretum Meum Mihi Press. Secretum Meum Mihi (Latin for “My secret is mine” … Edith Stein’s response when asked about her conversion to Catholicism) is a newsletter for Catholic women. “It’s for you, whether you are single, married or religious; young and idealistic, or old enough to wonder if you ask the right questions; Democrat or Republican; a prayerful Mary or a busy Martha. Through scripture, literature, historical inquiries, and shared prayers, I hope you’ll find sustenance for your mysterious faith.”

In the February 2007 issue of Secretum Meum Mihi, Kristen published her interview with me. It’s called “At Home in the Convent, At Home on the Web.” You can read the interview by going to the Secretum Meum Mihi web site and clicking on the sample copy (Volume 1, Number 6, February 2007). Kristen also has a piece called “The Joy Edith [Stein] Found in Silence,” a Bible study called “Martha and Mary Duke It Out” and a few other cool features. This newsletter is a great resource for spirituality and living a Catholic life today. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I saw your comment on my friend Kjirstin’s blog, and followed the link here. Very cool blog, I must say!

I love it when I find others who are interested in Edith Stein. I don’t know if I have much else to say, just I’m such a fan of Edith I get all excited when I come across others who know she exists. I’m going to the Edith Stein Project conference at Notre Dame at the end of the month. It looks like it will be a marvelous time!

Thanks, Bernadette! Yes, Edith Stein is quite fabulous. Be sure to check out Kristen West McGuire’s web site (see post above for link) for more on Edith Stein. The conference you are going to sounds fabulous. I’d love to hear how it goes. Sister J
