An Internet Connection at Long Last

by Sister Julie on April 13, 2007

I’ve been traveling this week. I had the privilege to go to the National Catholic Association of Educators (NCEA) held in Baltimore. I borrowed a laptop in the hopes of hopping on line to check email and check the blog, but technology conspired against me and I was unable to connect. I’m now sitting in the Baltimore airport (BWI) waiting for a flight to Chicago. It’s been delayed a couple hours so I thought I’d sign on here since I’ve got some time to spare. My apologies for not being able to respond to those who have emailed or left a comment on my blog. I’m going to try to catch up by the end of the weekend. Cheers!

Hi Julie, I was wondering where you were. I check daily for your blog. Easter retreat for me was great. I spent the Triduim at the Lantana retreat house with about 30 other sisters and laypeople. There was such unity during the services. We had a Franciscan Friar for our daily inputs on the meaning of these days for today. He spoke of making the cross real today in our lives. We do this by accepting the little crosses we have, uniting them with Christ suffering and that makes the Christ suffering real today. I love that thought. Hope you found some quiet time to reflect. I would love the readers to share, What did the Tridium mean to you?

Hi Mike. I loved Baltimore. I stayed downtown, a few blocks from the convention center where most of the festivities took place. I walked around the area alot and spent some time at the Inner Harbor. Didn’t have too much time to spend visiting. In the past I’ve visited the sites where Mother Mary Lange (founder of Oblate Sisters of Providence, the community from which our IHM founder came from) lived and worked. I’ve been to the Mother Lange home for girls (founded by OSP), the Basilica on Paca Street and Mother Seton’s house. I’ve also been to Fell’s Point. Cool city.
