Tri for the Cure
The Tri for the Cure triathlon event is almost here!
Bright and early Sunday morning I will be at Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora, CO to begin the event. It starts with a ½ mile swim in the reservoir, a 12+ mile bike through the park (with one enormous hill), and finally a 3+ mile run. My blood sister Marita and my Loyola Press colleague Carol will be joining me for the event. This is the first triathlon for all three of us.
The triathlon is in support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Denver affiliate. Helping women with breast cancer is a passion of mine, and this triathlon is a way for me to be supportive and to raise awareness. If you have some spare change, you may wish to donate to help out in the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. You can do so at my triathlon fund-raising Web site or at any organization with a similar mission.
Be sure to say a prayer for us as we begin our last week of training for the big event which starts at 7 a.m. mountain time on Sunday.

Back to beautiful Colorado again! My prayers are with you and my heart is in the “Mile High” state. God Bless you!!!!! (Just a smidge homesick for the place I was born and raised!)
Sister Julie, my prayers are with you too! I live in Denver, used to live in Aurora. We’re proud to have you in this beautiful state. Best of luck in the triathlon.
