DaRK PaRTY interviews Sister Julie
Nothing makes one feel hip and relevant like an interview by a mysterious-sounding group called DaRK PaRTY. Check out the blog DaRK PaRTY ReVIEW and read their interview with me in “5 Questions About: Nuns“. And to peak your interest, the five questions were:
- Why did you decide to become a nun?
- What order are you and what are the differences among the many orders of nuns?
- What is a typical day like for you?
- Where does your faith come from and why are you so sure there’s a God?
- What is the most difficult part about being a nun and what is the most rewarding part?

I’ve just read the interview and I think in as much as one can sum up one’s life and vocation in five paragraphs, it’s very succinctly done.
There’s definitely something about nuns that makes people think and question things and that’s no bad thing of course. Nuns can be great beacons for the church and their fidelity to the gospel is an example to all.
And isn’t a nun’s life well lived as good a proof as any of the existence of God?
Good interview, Sister Julie. Nice photo too. Good to put the face to the name. I think you had posted another picture of yourself at one point. But it was alot smaller.
BTW, I posted this before but I don’t think you saw it. Can you recommend any good books on Karl Rahner and his theology? I’m thinking of a kind of overview book.
Thanks.

Thanks Ann and deerose. And yes, thanks for reminding me about Rahner. Let me think on that and I’ll let you know soon. Sister J
Julie I enjoyed the interview. You did an excellent job in answering the questions. I now need to see how I would answer those questions if someone asked me the same questions.
Can you comment at all about politics? Do you follow the presidential race and do you plan to vote? I think your readers might like to know how your deep faith and lifestyle inform your opinions on this matter.
Hi Jeff, I “can” comment on politics but I usually do not. On this blog I’m mostly interested in exploring what it’s like to be a nun, how nuns are in the world, etc. But politics do absolutely affect and are a concern of nuns. I do follow the presidential race and I most definitely plan to vote.
I’m glad you brought this up because I have to think more about how I want to address politics because you are right — I think readers would be interested. Thanks, Jeff.
