Favorite Super Bowl 2008 Ads
By Sister Julie | February 4, 2008
I was very pleased that New York won. They played an awesome game, and that last quarter was AMAZING. The ads were not bad. Some were quite good. Here are my faves — the first two are still killing me!

Hi Sister Julie!
I am glad NY one as well. They deserved it. I did not see all of these ads. Thanks for posting and giving us a good laugh :-))

The game was very exciting at the end. I love the Budweiser commercial, because the Dalmatian looks like mine, a champion himself.

Bah. Was rooting for the Pats, because my in-laws would’ve killed me if I didn’t. They’re in mourning, I think.

Hmmm … in-laws can be very compelling, well, not that I have in-laws, unless you count all the families of all of my nuns! I would think Patriot fans would have been crushed, probably to the same extent that NY fans were elated.
Oh, and I forgot another good commercial — FedEx and the pigeons. Really, come on! Who comes up with this stuff?? It’s hilarious! (I added the video to my original post)

Did anyone watch the “Puppy Bowl” on Animal Planet? That’s my favorite kind of Super Bowl. … did you hear about the Benedictine nuns who charged $250 a room for folks who needed a place to stay during the Super Bowl?

The Puppy Bowl video is so very cute. The doggy game play-by-play calls are by NFL sportscaster Harry Kalas. They even have a “bowl cam” — when the puppy drinks water, you see the pup from the bottom of the bowl up. It’s hilarious.

Indeed these are the good ones…The Budweiser add could bring tears to your eyes…I know a bit sentimental!! Have a good Day Cathy

Oh, and the Benedictine nuns — hadn’t heard about that, but there was an NPR story “Nuns Welcome Super Bowl Fans to Phoenix”. And the sisters had info on their web site about Super Bowl Lodging.

I’d say families of nuns count!
And I shouldn’t have been drinking tea while watching the FedEx one.

I LOVE the puppy bowl half-time show–all kittens
