A Persistent PeaceI’m proud to say that Loyola Press, my place of ministry, is publishing A Persistent Peace, the newest book by John Dear, SJ. Father Dear is am amazing guy and has done so much to reach out to people, to work for nonviolence and peace, and to truly live the Good News of Christ Jesus.

There are some great quotes in support of John Dear including quotes from Joan Baez, Sister Helen Prejean, CSJ, Desmond Tutu, and my childhood hero Fred (Mr.) Rogers.

I encourage you to spend some time on Father Dear’s web site, A Persistent Peace. You’ll definitely find some inspiration there.

    Dear Sister Julie-

Thanks for the post announcing that Fr. Dear’s latest book will be available soon. Indeed, he has been an inspiration in his continual efforts for peace and justice.

I have always been appreciative of his emphasis on interfaith efforts: http://www.johndear.org/nonviolence/common_ground.html

Hope your computer has recovered, and that your day seems particularly blessed.

The book will be coming out in August.

Peace and nonviolence are such universal human desires that it makes so much sense to work with all people of good will. We may have different creeds and doctrines but peace and nonviolence are common ground.

Sadly, my computer is still being repaired. I’ll call again today to check its status.

    Blessings!

Ooooh. Need to put this on my Amazon wishlist. Fr. Dear is on the short list of people I’d like to have a beer with.
