Great memory and blog idea.
Thank you for bringing you experiences to the blogosphere.
Your entries are truly inspirational and a blessing.
I appreciate how you honor the past, live in the present and look forward to the future both as an individual and as a Sister.
I am hopeful that has your blog as well as that of other sisters ( along with the Sister webcircle) reaches out that more and more people will be open to actively consider and discern a religious vocation or apply the thought process whichever vocation to which they are drawn.

My Nuncie started out as my teacher in high school. We had corresponded on and off into the 1970’s. But life and time slips by and before I knew it I had a granddaughter who was starting high school. My granddaughter while visiting got me reminiscing about my high school days and my favorite teacher.
We all have that special teacher that we remember, with that deep gratitude but somehow never get the chance to express it. But I was fortunate enough with the help of the Internet to find her. Today we see one another, talk on the phone and email back and forth. It’s a real blessing and a wonderful relationship that we share. I found this quote kind of says it best for me… “Some people come into our lives and quietly go. Others stay for awhile and leave foot prints in our heart and we are never the same”.

interesting card for your late sister. I’d have to say that my “Nuncie” has to be my late mom. She was always there to talk, and she’d listen if I was upset or cranky.

My Nuncie was my mom and my first religion teacher, Mother Vita. It’s been about 50 years and I still remember her. My first formal lessons about God was through her teachings. She was a great religion teacher filled with excitement and enthusiams.

I like the idea of how you remember the sister and how they lived and the lessons they’ve taught. I have had many “Nuncies” along the way. One of the ones I remember most fondly was Sr. Joachim. She always reminded me to ‘consider the source.’ At first it was in reference to someone who was very negative toward me..reminding me to just let it go…but…after her death especially it has come to mean so much more than that to me. Its come to be a reminder to consider the God who loves us and surrounds us with his wonder and grace no matter how far away he might seem in the midst of a struggle.
