I’m in Monroe to celebrate the jubilees of my IHM nuns who have been nuns for 25, 50, 60, and 75 years! Check out the 2008 IHM Jubilarians on our IHM website.
I forgot my laptop power cord in Chicago, so I’ve not been able to be online very much. Plus, I’ve been attending all-day community meetings and visiting lots of my nuns — so many nuns came home from near and far to be here.
So I’ve been a bit remiss in posting and in responding to comments. I haven’t forgotten, just a little behind! I’ll be writing more about Jubilee later tomorrow or Monday.
Blessings to each one of you.
Sister Julie

Hi Sister Julie!
I hope you are enjoying the jubilee celebrations.
Are you going to be able to make it out to the Monroe County Fair? It starts tomorrow, Sunday, and goes on all next week through Saturday.
If you go to the Fair, maybe you can post about your favorite Fair Food, observations and what events you like…not quite a – religious post- yet one of interest for people who like County Fairs.
oh my gosh!!! I thought I was the only one who called mother houses motherships!!!
I was there today and I really loved the music, especially Pachabel’s Canon. I was suprized to learn on the web site the other day that Sister Dorothy Dietricks ( I hope I spelled that right) is at 60 years.
The photos of the jubilarians were wonderful. Was that Sigmund Freud encircled by a group of nuns, including Margaret Sullivan…? If so, that’s one for the annals of “Freudian Humor”. Have fun with your sisters.
Melissa, It was great to see you. Wish I had more time to spend with you. How was the celebration for you? Sister Dorothy is an amazing woman and will always have that youthful spirit!
Maureen, I don’t know who that is!
I enjoyed it very much. I was volunteering with some of the older sisters earlier and even those who couldn’t not go knew what day it was and they were excited. I was with Sister Mary Bea for a lot of the celebration. I was going to meet with you and Jill later but it was late so I decided to go home; I was there from a little after 10 and it is a 57 mile drive each way.
Sister Julie,
When are you headed back to Monroe? Maybe we could hang out with Jill or something.
Hi Melissa, I hope to be in Monroe again in September. I’ll keep you posted. Jill is great to hang out with if you have the time to get to Monroe again. Blessings,
Sister Julie
