Great, Joyce. Sobrino's book seems as good a place as any to enter into a conversation about poverty. Here's a link to No Salvation Outside the Poor on Amazon. We could use it as a spring board. What do others think?

Julie, thank you for your willingness to invite conversation and action about local and global poverty. I was cruising amazon.com the other day looking for a book that ‘would call out to me’. Not so surprising Jon Sobrino’s newest book, “No Salvation Outside the Poor” actually startled me into purchasing it immediately. I have been appalled at the paucity of politicians’ words regarding the poverty surrounding us and what we should be doing about it. I am moving into my own conscience formation to keep myself from falling into inhumanity. We have a civilization of poverty and seem paralized to tackle this horrible evil. I do not know what more to say at this time. But count me in for more dialogue and new grace to go with it.

I’ve added a Blog Action Day button on my sidebar–It will remind me. And as the day comes closer, I have some thoughts back to my India adventure which I can post about.
