I was cruising amazon.com the other day looking for a book that 'would call out to me'. Not so surprising Jon Sobrino's newest book, "No Salvation Outside the Poor" actually startled me into purchasing it immediately. I have been appalled at the paucity of politicians' words regarding the poverty surrounding us and what we should be doing about it. I am moving into my own conscience formation to keep myself from falling into inhumanity. We have a civilization of poverty and seem paralized to tackle this horrible evil. I do not know what more to say at this time. But count me in for more dialogue and new grace to go with it. If I could quilt I'd send you a square. I did a building blitz w/Habitat one year in Monroe. Many of my IHM Sisters (including my buddy Joyce) have been involved. Habitat not only builds houses but provides job training, financial training, etc. Great idea. I'm not sure yet what I'll do. Hoping to hear from readers. Absolutely, you are on track, Katney. The idea of fundraising was not something I had thought of. But I think I may have an idea. I will make a quilt for a Habitat for Humanity family.
