A prayer for peace in honor of Memorial Day by Pope John Paul II …

Shrine of Mary Queen of Peace, Quezon City, Manila Mary, Queen of Peace, we entrust our lives to you.

Shelter us from war, hatred and oppression.

Teach us to live in peace, to educate ourselves for peace.

Inspire us to act justly, to revere all God has made.

Root peace firmly in our hearts and in our world.

Amen.

I’d like to pray for everyone in harm’s way, whether military or civilian, and for the families and friends of all those military personnel who came back injured or not at all.

… is it okay to pray for Jesus? I mean, I know we pray TO Jesus, but… I really would like to pray for him… because he and his message are often misunderstood, misused and abused – to serve self-centered ends. I guess he probably doesn’t NEED us to pray for him, but… I don’t know. I just want to pray for him.

I would like to also remember those whose lives are torn apart by the battles that rage in each of us, especially the victims of street violence, of corporate greed, of spousal abuse, of our toxic environment.

I believe if we could only win the battle of good vs. evil in our very selves, that it would trickle down to ur families, to our staes and countries, to the world. There would be no reason for war.

Ever.

I suppose that would then be Heaven.

Please say a prayer for my brother Joey. He came back from Vietnam, but left his spirit/humanity back there in the jungle.
Thank you.

my nephew, adam. he just spent 8 days in icu because a drinking binge damaged his pancreas so severely that he will be insulin-dependent for the rest of his life, he has hepatitis. his heart rate is way too high, his o2 sats are way too low. he has lost 40 pounds in 10 days and still cannot tolerate food without astronomical blood sugar numbers. born into a family of addicts–both sides–he is 24 and i want him to live.

Hi! I am just happy to see the statue of Our Lady of Peace of EDSA. During the “dark” dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos in our country, the Filipino people held a prayer rally. Nuns, priests, etc were there praying for peace, since Marcos is responsible for many political murders. You may see the story here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People_Power_Revolution

and the Virgin Mary appeared to the people who were trying to stop the ARMOR trucks! http://www.edsashrine.com/v2/story.php

I love the line from the prayer that says “root peace firmly in our hearts and in our world”. I pray for all those who hate, that their hearts will be softened with peace and love and that their energy will be channeled toward good.
