As happy as we were to get in the new place (and out of the moldy place) it was still an endeavor. Wonky connections for Internet and gas (i.e., no hot water), faulty thermostat on the dryer, dishwasher on back order, etc.--all these plus the stress and effort of moving twice was a bit much for me. We spent two afternoons at the laundromat cleaning everything (stuff exposed to mold spores) and had countless trips to the hardware store returning stuff from old house and getting stuff for new place. So I think I was a bit too optimistic about getting "back to normal"! Thanks, Marla, Chris and others. The big mistake I made was I thought cause it was only like an 11mi move I could do itcar load by car load, except for the big stuff,annd save to stay on budget...NOT!!! I hadn't moved in a l-o-n-g-t-i-m-e,& oh boy did I have STUFF,left alot for new owner.if they wanted it& am still going thru STUFF!!! With some stuff though...the minute you toss it,is when you need it for something!! Now almost a yr later,great house,love it.....it has come thru (still standing) after 90mi/hr winds(frequently) here.Last weeks storms were real scarey,but the good-ole house didn't fail me.So,I hope once this worst part of your move is over the house will be worth all your effort as mine has been.Don't forget about the grass needing cuttin,bummer,when temp is over 90.It'll be great when you get to start enjoying the house!! I well remember finding grotty mould under our sink when the washing machine in the flat upstairs leaked - ewww - fortunately landlord sorted it out but it wasn't fun.
