NNR006 Nun News Roundup
We’ve got an exciting day here at A Nun’s Life Ministry as we prepare for today’s Nun News Roundup podcast. As mentioned in a post earlier this morning, the US House of Representatives has passed a resolution honoring Catholic Sisters in the US. Wow! I didn’t know they could do things like that!
Sister Maxine and I are going to chat about the House Resolution on today’s podcast as well as other news on the nunfront. Here’s a peak:
- London’s Oldest Nun parties at Sister Act??? – a story about Sister Josephine Deviney of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Bordeaux
- a new initiative highlighting the work of women religious around the world
- the House Resolution honoring the work of women religious in the United States
- big news for the Little Sisters of the Poor – a Nun Run to support their ministry and preparing for the canonization of their founder Jeanne Jugan!
- Sister Julie’s visit with the Oblate Sisters of Providence and the IHMs from Immaculata, Scranton and Monroe — see an earlier post on her OSPIHM visit
- a Shoutout to CAVA
- an opportunity to ask the sisters any question about life as a nun

Sisters Julie and Max, I thoroughly enjoyed the Nun News Roundup for Oct. 2. Your brief nun stories were interesting and in some cases amusing. Your informal chat back and forth reveals your passion for this ministry as well as sensitivity to your listeners by offering us insights into the mystery of a vocation to the vowed life. I felt compelled even in my busy schedule to attend to the very last statement of your podcast lest I miss a new view of things that might expand my own thoughts and views of this marvelous gift-a call to a deeper quest for God. And now with such gratitude my question today is how can I experience a renewed way to be of service for today’s ‘interruptions’. Thanks and keep ‘podcasting’ which is the same as Jesus’ words to the Apostles, “throw out into the deep”. We are here in cyberspace-waiting.
