Sister Julie and Sister Maxine,

Chilly and Lovely Autumn Sunday greetings from PA.

Special thanks for all podcasts, especially this one with Mirabai Starr. I was on the live call/chat with at least 35 others (I lost count after 35) on Thursday night. I listened again to the recording yesterday.

I appreciated the education regarding St. Teresa of Avila ... especially learning about her early years, what lead Teresa to the convent and her initial and changed reaction to becoming a Sister. I also enjoyed hearing about Mirabai’s initial and changed reaction to the request to complete her translation of St. Teresa’s writings.

Since the podcast, I have checked out Mirabai’s website and was touched by her writing titled “Garden of Righteousness” and her blog titled “The Beautiful Wound.” One of my Small Church Community friends is lending her copy of “The Inferior Castle” to me. I am looking forward to additional learning’s.

Hoping that Mirabai will return on/around St. John of The Cross’ feast day on December 14. Meanwhile, I have Outlook reminder set for “Praying with the Sisters” and “Nun News Round Up” podcasts this coming week.

God bless,
Kathleen.
