Maybe it is odd that previous correspondent John should have a Dominican teacher and now be a secular Franciscan!! May I put this question? Since some sisters stopped wearing habits have they adopted forms of dress prevalent in the rest of the community. Are there communities where the sisters wear any thing from mini-skirts to ultra-traditional long habits or have communities no longer using habits adopted dress codes which would exclude extremely short or long clothing? Dominican Sisters of Houston educated me and taught me character and morals and values in life. Based on family situation I should have been written off, but becasue of these women of faith my life was written in the Lambs book of life!!!! Today I'm blessed beyond words and I'm able to bless others. This year I lost Sr. Emerita 95 years young!!!who was my second mother who taught me faith hope and love!!! We all need to support sisters and nuns wearing a habit or not, its the love in the heart and the work of the hands that make a woman a sister or a nun! John SFO I praise God for Sisters.
