I hear you Anon. This is one of the things holding me back from religious life. Another thing is that once these elderly sister die, you are alone in your order. What then?

Here's a question: A lot of orders only have old poeple left in them? How would a young sister deal with that, especially if patience for the elderly wasn't her best trait!

i would stay up to listen to NNR, but i have to function tomorrow and staying up till 4 am is just not quite worth it, sorry but sleep is precious!
i was looking through the archives and saw spirituality descernment, i thought that this was reflections upon descerning a particular charism, but it wasnt. is it possible to have something along this line which looks at the role of particular "branches of spirituality" ie. benedicine, marist, dominican etc. upon the descernment process in general.
for me, the idea of becoming a sister was not real until i discovered a particular spirituality and wanted to know more about other perspectives on it

I am not able to catch the podcast today so if you could please type your answer in the comments if you want to answer my question, thanks. My question is this . . . Last night I went to a discussion group on John Paul II's Theology of the Body. All they did really was talk about the sanctity and virtue of marriage. Don't get me wrong, I think marriage is great and my parents are a loving example of this wonderful sacrament, but I have devoted my life to Jesus and have decided to remain celibate. Wether or not I enter religious life is yet to be seen. Should I continue going to this discussion group? Would I be of any benefit to the others in the group? Would these discussions help me in my devotion to Christ? Thanks in advance for your answer. I love the podcasts whenever I am free to listen. Your blog is great. Jeannie
