Happy Feast of the Immaculate Conception!
It is December 8 and that means it’s the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, one of the high holy days for us as Immaculate Heart of Mary Sisters. Here are a couple of posts about this feast day, one from my dear friend and sister Margaret Brennan, IHM, called Lily of My Heart and the other is one I wrote for the Young Women and Catholicism blog.
For today, I have chosen an icon from Jesuit Father William McNichols, SJ. Though he has one of the Immaculate Conception, I chose this icon called The Triumph of the Immaculate Heart because it is stunning and speaks to me of this Advent season — the coming of God in our midst, the dawn of a new day.

How does this icon speak to you? What words of prayer or reflection or action does it inspire in you?
Happy feast day to you!

Blessed Feast Day to you and your Sisters, Sr Julie!
Hello sisters.I hope you all had a wonderful feast day!I sure did.I have recently come back to the church after having been fallen away for 20 yrs.I and my family are now in catechism class and my children made their first communion on Dec. 8.What a blessing!!!During my time of darkness there were moments of great necessity where I prayed the Rosary.Mother always came so swiftly to my aid!!It was that prayer that eventually led me back home.I Love her so much!!I can’t express it in words.I sing in the chior now and it was so very sweet to sing those songs to my beautiful mother.God bless you all.
