Hi Tinette, Thank you for writing. We did talk a bit about this on our podcast last night, noting that we'd find some resources for you.
Here are a few we came up with:

Volunteering Abroad in Jinja Uganda

Christian Volunteering

MissionFinder.org Volunteer work with children - enter Jinja in the search box

Catholic Diocese of Jinja - there's a list of religious working in the diocese - you might contact them or the diocese itself

Catholic Relief Services - they might have info about working in Jinja

This should get you started. Blessings on your journey, Tinette.

Hello sisters,
I feel called to go to Jinja in Africa to help the children there.I am a catholic lay person of meager means.I am not planning to go over until 2 yrs from now when my youngest child goes to college.I was wondering if you knew if the catholic church does any funding for lay persons to do missionary work.
Thank you
