"If any place will not welcome you and they refuse to hear you, as you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them."

This is the part that stuck out to me today...this whole week I have felt not listened to, trying to change people's hearts or minds about some things and sometimes you just can't. I am heartened to remember that I can't always control things. It's okay for me to dust off my feet and move on.

Hi Jeannie, thanks for writing. I too am reminded of the sparrows passage. Also one of my favorites. It is a challenge to trust that even our most basic necessities can be met by God or even on occasion need to be let go of for a time.

Hi Sr. Julie,
I can't join the podcast tonight (class) but was wanting prayers for a fellow education student. Her boyfriend was in Toronto when he suffered a massive heart attack. She is the single mom of two children as well as a full time student. She has a lot on her plate right now, as does her boyfriend's family. Could you please pray for my college, her boyfriend and both their families? Thanks so much. Blessings. Jeannie

This passage in scripture is one of my favourites. It makes me feel safe, secure and bonds my trust and love of God. Jesus would never ask us to do something without God's love and help. It also reminds me of the passage about the sparrows. God provides for them homes and food and we are worth so much more to him than sparrows. These readings have helped me to trust God with every small detail of my life. This of course has not come easily, or overnight but now, I feel so free. Yes there are difficulties, there are hardships, but trusting in God means being safe in his loving embrace. That, to me, is worth so much more than two tunics, or a bag of food or money in my belt. Have a blessed day all.
