Another A Nun’s Life Photo Caption Contest

by Sister Julie on March 4, 2010  J.M.J.A.T.

in blog post, random writing

Welcome to the second A Nun’s Life photo caption contest. Last year we featured a photo of the Blessed Virgin Mary with an ADT sign. This year on yet another one of my neighborhood walks, I discovered another gem of a photo. The caption, however, is up to you!

Here is a closeup …

Here’s what you do:

  1. Pray and meditate on the perfect caption for the photo.
  2. Submit your entry by writing your name/pseudonym, real email (so A Nun’s Life can contact potential winners — enter where it says “email” — never made public), website (optional), and caption in the comment box below this post.
  3. Check back often to see other divinely-inspired caption entries.

The contest will run through this Friday, March 5 midnight (PST).

Over the weekend, Sister Maxine and I will go over the entries and select the finalists. Then on Monday, March 8, we will announce the finalists. You will have 24 hours to vote for your favorite one. The caption with the most votes wins! The prize? Well, that has not been decided. Far more important than the prize will be the personal pride and joy you will feel at winning this contest! :)

whoops … spelled meditation incorrectly

Kathleen,
Mediation is also something done in church though. Hockey games and swan lake, not so sure :)

Pastor chatting with priests over morning coffee:
”Ok guys, fess up. Who prayed for an ice hockey rink on our Church roof?”

rosebud March 5, 2010 at 12:26 pm

I like that St. Gretzky thing … BTW, do you all every watch the show, “Everyone Hates Chris?” It’s a hoot. They have one episode where Chris’ brother (a black kid from Brooklyn in the 80s) wants a Gretzky jersey. Now evidentally hockey is not big in the black community in NY and few there are familiar with it. So his dad, good intentioned, tries to buy a jersey “hot” off the local shyster and ends up getting the kid a jersey that says Gritzky instead of Gretzky (like the Southern and Afro-American food – grits.) I guess you would have to see it.

I vote for “Hockey on High”.
