Sisters of the Holy Cross

Trip Date: June 9, 2015
Motherhouse Roadtrip
Travel Journal
  • An international congregation meets an international chatroom with people from Mexico, Australia, the Philippines, Germany, Sweden, India and more!
  • The Holy Cross Sisters have a wonderful history of education, which includes the establishment of the School of Sacred Theology at Saint Mary's College in the 1930s. Some of the first sisters in the U.S. to receive a PhD in theology attended the college.
  • Our podcast guests, Sister Veronica and Sister Mary Elizabeth, talk about how they discovered their own gifts and talents through service to others. Lots of #nunwisdom!
  • It’s always awesome to connect with our IHM sisters when we’re on the road. Our own Sister Ann Oestreich, social justice coordinator for the CSCs, attends the podcast and joins us for dinner after.

About the Congregation

Mission Statement: We, Sisters of the Holy Cross throughout the world, are called to participate in the prophetic mission of Jesus to witness God’s love for all creation. Compassion moves us to reflect on the signs of the times, discern needs, and respond. We stand in solidarity with the poor and the powerless. Our life together enriches and strengthens us to foster community wherever we are.
