This Random Nun Clip is brought to you by A Nun's Life Ministry.

Sister Maxine
Hi, I'm Sister Maxine.

Sister Julie
And I'm Sister Julie.

Sister Maxine
The Thanksgiving holiday is just around the corner here in the United States. And one of the things we're very thankful for is you, our podcast listeners. You're always in our hearts and prayers.

Sister Julie
In honor of Thanksgiving, we reached into the vault for a Random Nun Clip from one of our first livestreaming podcasts in November 2010.

Sister Maxine
We have a lot of folks talking in the chat room, and we have Lisa from New Jersey who says, "I have no recipe to share tonight. So I'd like to offer the fruit of my meditation in preparation for this gathering. I just want to share a thought on the significance of special foods on Thanksgiving. Whether it's my grandmother's stuffing recipe, or the plate of nuts and veggies and dips that keep us occupied while the meal is cooking, I think what the food represents is the deliciousness of the relationships that are important to us. The relationships for which we express gratitude in a tangible way on Thanksgiving, whether we were near or far from family, friends or loved ones, whether they are still with us or in the next chapter of life. The food which we rightly celebrate in honoring the bountiful harvest with which God has blessed us is an emblem or symbol also of the people with whom God blesses us.

Sister Julie
And Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate that oneness and the love we feel for each other, and the ways that Christ is reflected in each one of us.

Sister Maxine
If others want to tell us about some of your Thanksgiving memories and recipes, we'd certainly welcome that. In the meantime, Sister Julie, I think it's about time to share that Thanksgiving story when we almost lost the turkey in Canada.

Sister Julie
We almost did. It was very tragic. But I see that someone's queued up though. Oh, and they're asking to speak with Sister Maxine.

Sister Maxine
Okay. [turkey gobbling] You know, I fall for it every time.

Sister Julie
Why does that not get old? This is the last time she's gonna let me control the dashboard here.

And if you look at the top right corner of that page, well, and actually any page of the website, you'll see the Donate Now button.

Sister Julie
And every time someone clicks on that button, an angel gets its wings.

Sister Maxine
Well, we're not really sure of that. But we do know that this ministry relies on you, and we are deeply grateful for your encouragement and support.

Sister Julie
God bless.
