I'm using IE8, and the editor seems a bit jumpy, especially with very long posts. The control has a tendency to jump a line or so higher, so you can't see what you're typing (only when you're typing a letter, will it jump to that line). Scrolling is also buggy in long posts. Right now, I'm using notepad and copying/pasting for long posts.

I'm having the same problem. On extremely long posts, I copy and paste from a Word document. Most of the time though, I just deal with it. I've almost gotten used to it, annoying though it is.
