Sister Maxine is a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) of Monroe, Michigan. She has master’s degrees in theology and in advertising. Prior to co-founding A Nun’s Life, Sister Maxine had extensive experience in Corporate Communications. Sister Maxine writes regularly for Global Sisters Report. She also trains religious communities and other Catholic organizations to implement social media to advance a culture of vocation. Sister Maxine is an accomplished martial artist, avid biker, and history buff.
Sister Julie is a member of the Sisters of Saint Francis, Sylvania, Ohio, who served as the Sacristan for her congregation’s chapel for 22 years. Prior to joining A Nun’s Life Ministry, she served for five years as Congregational Vocation Minister for her Sylvania Franciscan community. During that time, she was a member of the National Religious Vocation Conference and was active in NRVC Region 6. She also served on the Detroit Archdiocesan Vocation Association team and the Toledo Area Vocation Ministers Team. Sister Julie is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and has long served in health care ministry. Sister Julie loves the outdoors and is happiest when she is camping.
Alana Hatcher holds a bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal and Public Communications from The University of Akron. Prior to joining A Nun’s Life Ministry, Alana spent years in Corporate Marketing and Communications with a focus in social media, content and strategy creation. Alana is passionate about community involvement and serves on a number of boards and committees in the Greater Toledo area, including the Promedica Metro Board, Toledo Club Marketing Committee, and Leadership Toledo Committee.
Alana is a classically trained ballerina, having been trained at Toledo Ballet, Ballet Theatre of Toledo, and The University of Akron School of Dance. Her fondest ballet memories include annual performances of The Nutcracker, where she was cast in thirteen seasons. She enjoys being active, trying new foods, and traveling.
