A trip to the A Nun's Life Archives presents: You are in for a treat today! A few weeks ago, Sister Maxine interviewed a Catholic sister from India. Sister Sabitha is a member of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, Bangalore, India, who was studying here in Chicago for the past two years at the Catholic Theological Union where Sister Maxine also studies.

Just the other day I came across my copy of The Hound of Heaven. It’s a poem about God’s untiring pursuit of us, a chase inspired by God’s great love. The poem was written around 1900, by Francis Thompson.

I just watched the video “Sisters of Mercy: Going West on the Journey,” about the Sisters of Mercy coming to the Americas in the 1800s. In a word, WOW!

I couldn’t help but think about how Sisters and Nuns are that kind of goodness! We never know how deeply we’ve touched a life or influenced behaviors. Sisters and Nuns commit to lives of service, prayer, and blessing, and give this super power to those we meet.
