Ask Sister podcast is a live podcast where you have the opportunity to engage with us and ask questions about nuns, prayer, religious life, or pretty much anything in between!

Here are some of the questions we addressed in this Ask Sister podcast:

  • When is the right time to let family and friends know I truly feel called to become a Catholic sister?
  • Are you ever too old to become a nun or sister?
  • How old do you have to be to become a nun? Do you have to finish college first before becoming a nun?
  • Can sisters and nuns travel?
  • Why are the beatitudes important?
  • Can a divorced woman become a nun?
  • What do you pray when you are asked to pray for someone you don’t know and don’t know why they need prayer?
  • What is the Catholic Church’s stance on yoga? Are practicing Catholics, including religious sisters, allowed to practice yoga?
  • I’m a people person and really want a strong spiritual community. Any practical hints on how to deal with this hunger?

Do you have a question for us? Call our toll-free Voicemail Hotline at 888-703-4732 and leave a voicemail for us with your question. Can nuns travel??? Have you never heard the expression, “Join the convent, see the world”? (=^D

Just since I moved to New Mexico last September, I have flown to Wisconsin and back, driven to Arizona and back, driven to California and flown back, flown to New Jersey and back, and am getting ready to go *back* to New Jersey next week! Yikes!

I have also traveled to Canada and Italy to do some studying (and far too much sightseeing in Rome. I swear we took the train to Vatican City, then walked six of the seven hills of Rome back to our Generalate. Ouch!) I even got to go to Hawaii for the Big Island Liturgy Conference–wow!

And I almost forgot–I taught arts and crafts at our mission in Mexico one summer. Yes, join the convent, see the world!
