GREAT ASK THE SISTERS PODCAST!
I have a question that I hope you can answer next week. I was watching “The Nun’s Story” with Audrey Hepburn and at the beginning, when she was first entering the convent, a sister came over to her father to collect “the dowry”. I had never heard of a dowry for becoming a sister. Is this still common today? Did you, or your family, have to give a dowry?
Kaylea, I just remembered that. Dowries are a little outdated. Does anyone in America even have dowries anymore? Good question.
