Ask Sister podcast is a live podcast where you have the opportunity to engage with us and ask questions about nuns, prayer, religious life, or pretty much anything in between!
Here are some of the topics we address in this Ask Sister podcast:
- Can I use my engineering skills as a sister? What kinds of ministries could I be involved in?
- What does “total consecration” mean theologically and how does it fit into a person’s daily faith life?
- Who in the Catholic Church decides if a saint like Christopher or a “place” like limbo no longer exists? How do they decide?

Just a note: Saint Christopher is still a saint in the Catholic Church. He is still on the Canon of Saints. It’s just that his feast that was removed from the General Roman Calendar.
And limbo was never a formal part of the Church’s teaching. It was more of a pious belief to comfort the faithful pertaining to the salvation of unbaptized babies and not an article of faith.
Thanks, Allison, that’s exactly what we mentioned in the podcast tonight!
Hope all went well tonight…sorry I couldn’t join you online….
Is it possible to listen to a podcast after the fact? Just to hear what was said, if you can’t be online at that time? If so, how is it done? (In detail, please!)
Hello Sr Shirley, Yes, you can listen to a recording of the podcast. Usually we have an MP3 file posted to the website in a day or so. You can play it directly off the website or you can download the file and listen to it on an ipod or other device. The podcast from this past Thursday will be there in a couple of hours. Have a good weekend!
