Ask Sister podcast is a live podcast where you have the opportunity to engage with us and ask questions about nuns, prayer, religious life, or pretty much anything in between!
Here are some of the questions we addressed in this Ask Sister podcast:
- What do you think of the Wikipedia entry for Nun?
- What can I do as I wait to begin the process to become a Catholic sister?
- Do I have to have a college degree before I enter religious life? What about people who can’t afford to go to college?
- Do you think God is mad at me because I should have become a nun?
- Is it required to go to daily Mass when you are discerning or to go to confession more often?
- What things are not recommended for a person who is discerning?
- Is there any point in praying for specific things if all we need to say is “thy will be done”?
PLUS: An update from the novelist mentioned in last week’s Ask Sister podcast.

Wikipedia’s definition is totally whacked! What’s their obsession with woolen undies? Sister Julie, I nominate *you* to write a more accurate description to set the record straight. }=^(
Speaking from experience, I got my B.A. in June, 1978, my teaching certificate in December, then entered the Felician Franciscan Sisters in January. Believe me, it made life much easier in that I could concentrate more on developing my spiritual side. I attended the local Catholic college with the other postulants, but I was free to take courses in Scripture and theology while my classmates were worrying about passing their basic classes in literature, science and math.
I didn’t know you wore wool underwear.
humorous… someone needs an update.
