Ask Sister podcast is a live podcast where you have the opportunity to engage with us and ask questions about nuns, prayer, religious life, or pretty much anything in between!
Here are some of the questions we address in this Ask Sister podcast:

  • I came across an older bible recently. It has more books than one I recently bought, e.g. the book of Enoch. Why are these bibles different?
  • Do you find yourself allowing God to direct your ministry and life or do you need complete control over such matters?
  • Why do some churches omit “and sisters” from parts of the Mass such as the penitential rite which says, “and you, my brothers and sisters”?

Do you have a question for us? Visit our new portress Sister Mary Evoca http://anunslife.org/contact/and leave a message for us. Be sure to give us your first name and city from where you are calling. We’ll play your message and respond on the Ask Sister podcast. You can also comment below. In whatever way you contact us, please know that your last name, email address, and any other private information will be kept confidential.

Pax et Bonum!!
we are battening down the hatches, ladies…. if the boys in Rome have their way
(and they will… for now!) we will once again be Brothers….. not brothers and sisters….. the 40 years we have worked since VCII are being washed away (with BLEACH!!) before our eyes.
sad but true: small faith communities and local faith formation seems to be our future….
If they can even bring up the fact that Dorothy Day had an abortion…. need I say more???
a Rahner/Rohr catholic and proud of it ;-)

Sadly, in the past I felt like I had to have control over everything and it was not good. When things did not go my way, I would stress out. I did not exactly believe in God either. Thankfully by the grace of God, I was able to let go and let him lead me wherever he wants me to go or do. It took awhile, but letting God lead me makes life so much more free and joyful. I had a conversion to the Catholic Faith in the mist of that and started believing in God again. God is amazing and I am thankful for that experience. I do not think, I would appreciate everything God has done for me as much as I do now if I hadn’t experienced that. My faith is so much stronger now. Thanks be to God.
In addition, I feel that God may want me to be a religious. He has provided me with an amazing spiritual director. I am pretty sure I already know which community I am called to join. I have been Catholic for 2 yrs and will wait until I graduate college to possibly consider joining the Sisters of Life. Let God’s will be done. Alleluia
