We’re shining the spotlight on Saint Joseph this week, as we continue our celebration of saints leading up to All Saints Day!

Joseph is the patron saint of workers. He was a carpenter by trade and used his talents and gifts to serve the needs of others. He also put his life in service to others across history in his role as the husband of Mary and parent to Jesus.

This week, we honor Saint Joseph with a special edition Ask Sister podcast about the St. Joseph Worker Program. The live podcast will be this Wednesday, October 16, at 12 Noon Eastern at aNunsLife.org/LIVE.

The St. Joseph Worker Program is a one-year volunteer experience around the core values of justice, leadership, spirituality, and living simply in an intentional community. Its mission is to empower women who are committed to social change to respond to the needs of the times.

WIth us for the podcast will be Sister Suzanne Herder, CSJ, director of the St. Joseph Worker Program in St. Paul/Minneapolis. She has ministered with nearly 100 women who have been St. Joseph Workers. We’ll also be joined by Ms. Andrea Pearson Tande, who has been involved in the program since it began over 10 years ago. She was one of the first St. Joseph Workers and continues to serve on behalf of the program’s transformative mission.

We hope you join us for the podcast! We also have a live chat room during the broadcast so you can bring your questions and comments into the conversation!

This podcast is one of many events taking place in October for our Fall FUN!raiser. We need your help and are very grateful for your support! As a bonus, when you donate you'll be entered into a drawing for a brand new iPad Mini (thanks to a generous donor)! That's right! Imagine tuning into A Nun's Life podcasts and chat right from your own iPad Mini! And yes, there's an app for that!
