This is Ask Sister, a program of A Nun's Life Ministry. And we're here in St. Paul, Minnesota, on a Motherhouse Road Trip with the Sisters of St. Joseph of CarondeIet. Our guests are Sister Jill Underdahl and Sister Cathy Steffens.
Sister Julie
Sister Jill, what is the best thing for you about being a Catholic sister?
Sister Jill
For me, what's most exciting is the collective power that can be found in being part of a religious congregation. Earlier in talking about Sisters of St. Joseph being all around the world -- we're in 51 countries and so then all those congregations collaborate. And having a sister of St. Joseph at the United Nations, as a non-governmental organization. Always a privilege for us when she engages with our congregations and providing education and raises our conscience in terms of what our actions and behavior needs to be in the world. Really brings forth that sense of solidarity. So for me, it's that sense of collective power.
