L: Sister Felicity Marie Madigan was born in Kansas City and grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has five siblings, including her twin, and joined the Felician sisters 16 years ago. Sister Felicity now ministers in the Detroit area, where the Felicians are establishing Deo Gratias, a place of hospitality, food, fellowship and services for disadvantaged people. She previously was an assistant Youth and Young Adult Coordinator at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Livonia, Michigan. For the past five years, she was dean of Ministry and Mission at Ladywood High School in Livonia. She has a master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry.
R: Sister Shelley Marie Jeffrey was born and raised in the Greater Toronto area with seven siblings. She has been a Felician sister for over 30 years. She ministered in Toronto until her recent move to Detroit to serve in the Felician’s Deo Gratias ministry. She is especially interested in the city’s urban agriculture movement as a way to promote community building while providing a sustainable source of fresh food. While in Toronto, Sister Shelley was an elementary school teacher for many years and later served in the Felicians’ social outreach center. She also served in provincial council leadership in her community. She has a master’s degree in Theological Studies.
