To be acknowledged is one thing, but to be seen says that we are valued and loved. No matter what we do or give to practice Almsgiving, it is about the person and the relationship. Showing others that they are seen, heard, and loved has the potential to bring them back from the lifelessness of all that weighs them down.
God calls us to be loving, giving human beings. We are called to be involved neighbors, caring churchgoers, and committed citizens, as well as supportive friends who are generous, interested, and truly giving to those who have less and need help.
I am a big sports fan myself. But far greater than any allegiance to any sports team, I have chosen to ally my life with the life of Christ. We are Christians. We know the outcome of this game. We believe that the Paschal Mystery is our story, too.
