I Think I Missed God’s Call ...

A few weeks back, a call came into the convent hotline from a woman who had a very real concern that she might have missed God’s call.

A vocation is a gift of God, a gift for one’s journey of life and a gift for others. As a young teenage girl, I was attracted to my particular community by how the Sisters gave witness. They were joyful, prayerful, relational women, clearly at ease with people.

There needs to be a balance in navigating the roles of daughter and Catholic sister. Community supports that balance and encourages me to take time for myself yet pushes me when I need it. Parents can be at ease knowing their children can still be their children and be sisters.
